Note that the wide range of functions performed by Emeter and RDU today may be
impressive, but it will only get wider...
With the ability to parallel future devices to the RDU AUX port, we're planning
additions such as Airspeed and Load in 2009
and
perhaps even GPS logging. And with steady firmware updates, we'll be
able to incorporate your suggestions to suit
your needs now and in the future...
The Emeter II and RDU are natural companions, and together have an
astonishing array of capabilities.
As such, we recommend #HP-EM2-SET with Emeter and RDU at $20.00 savings to you.
But they are each quite
powerful even separately, so we do offer various configurations to suit all
users.

EMETER II SET with RDU
(#HP-EM2-SET)
Includes the items pictured:
* Emeter II
* RDU (remote data unit)
* Emeter II<>RDU Data Cable
* Emeter II Power Input Plug
The Emeter II supports the RDU by downloading log files to Emeter,
Display of log files, Calculation of Thrust-Efficiency (if prop
selected), Calculation of internal resistances... and much more.
In addition, it can program Hyperion TITAN ESC, ATLAS Digital Servos,
upcoming ATLAS ESC. It can drive servos or ESC via the dial on the
face, or create automated test routines. We could go on... but

OPTION TEMP
UNIT 1 (#HP-EM2-TMP1)
This unit connects directly to the RDU "Aux" port. Temps #2 and #3
then daisy-chain to Temp #1. Therefore purchase this one first,
then temps 2&3 if desired.
Generous 25cm (10") cable length means a good reach even in larger models... |

OPTION TEMP UNITS 2 & 3
(#HP-EM2-TMP23)
The Temp#2 unit connects directly to Temp#1 unit, so Temp#1 is required
to use these. Temp#3 connects to Temp#2. Temps 2 and 3 have
cable length of 20cm each, so max reach of Temp#3 unit from RDU is about
65cm (~26"). |

OPTION PHASE TACHOMETER
for brushless motors (#HP-EM2-TACHBL)
This one is a beauty! Just attach inline on one of the three
brushless motor wires (solder up a male/female connector adapter for
convenience) and log motor rpm extremely accurately throughout the motor
run. You need to know how many magnets are in your motor to
configure the RDU, but even if you don't know the Emeter can be
connected and RDU rpm compared with the Emeter tach. Makes it a
snap to set it up right, every time... And this unit is NOT
plagued by the problems found in some other brands. It's rock
solid! |

EMETER<>RDU DATA CABLE
(#HP-EM2-4PINCBL)
This data cable comes with the Emeter itself. As such, it is
mainly for replacement or as a spare. Note that it is also used to
program Hyperion TITAN ESC via the Emeter II. |

This power input cable comes with the Emeter itself. As such, it
is mainly for replacement or as a spare. |

TITAN USB<>SERIAL ADAPTER (#HP-TI-PRGUSB)
This adapter is only necessary if you've purchased RDU alone
(i.e. you do NOT have EmeterII) You'll need it to connect your RDU
to the Windows PC Emeter II Suite Software. The software allows you to
configure the RDU via PC, Download, Store, and Display Log File results,
and Bench Test live to PC using the RDU alone when desired.

Note: TI-PRGUSB comes with an adapter
marked "Emeter". It is for Emeter v1 and NOT used with RDU or EmeterII. |

Other Items Suggested

- A standard SD Memory Card.
Anything from 64MB to 4GB will work. Some dealers will be
offering 2GB cards with the most recent firmware, help files, and prop
constants installed for about $12, we expect. You may use mini or
micro SD cards in a standard adapter.

- A PC Card Reader for SD Card.
The Emeter<>PC interface is via the SD card. Most laptops and many
printers include card readers...
